Bristol Area Lions Silent Auction 08/16/2012

On Sat. Aug. 11, the Bristol Area Lions will host a silent auction, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Wawenock Golf Clubhouse, Rt. 129 in Walpole in conjunction with their Fourth Annual Golf Tournament. The public is invited to participate in either or both events.

Don’t miss the chance to snap up local bargains on new items donated by local businesses; stop by anytime in the morning to place those bids. You don’t have to be present to win.

Other items offered include gift certificates for dinner for two at the Bradley Inn, two shore dinners at the Pemaquid Fisherman’s Co-op., the Sea Gull Shop, the Cupboard Café and Rising Tide Community Market; a peck of steamers from John’s River Shellfish; and, a dozen oysters from Mook Sea Farm.

Not hungry? Then how about a round of golf at Boothbay Country Club for a foursome, a
Ron Fletcher framed “New Harbor” print, a North Country “Pemaquid” Wind Bell, a fireplace wood holder from the Carpenter’s Boat Shop or a gift card from Peapod Jewelry?

For those preferring home improvement projects, up for bid are gift cards from both Hammond Lumber and Hancock Lumber, 12 yards of ¾” surface gravel from both O.W. Holmes and Joe Winchenbach, a pickup load or five yards of bark mulch and 500 feet of hemlock shiplap from N.C. Hunt and eight yards of loam from Hanley Construction.

All proceeds benefit the Bristol Area Scholarship Fund and local charities such as, C.H.I.P. Inc., the New Harbor Food Pantry, Round Pond Green and the Lions Christmas Food Basket distribution to needy families. Any questions, please call John Janell, President at 563-7402.
