After a summer-long effort, the Bristol Area Lions Club held a Labor Day drawing of winning tickets for its annual raffle. Deputy Sheriff Mark Bridgham of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office picked the winning tickets for the Club.

The first prize, a $250 L.L.Bean gift card, was awarded to Michael Schneider of Pemaquid. The second prize, a dozen lobsters courtesy of Shaw’s Lobster Wharf, went to Marian Marshall of Chamberlain. Linda Bean of Wakefield, New Hampshire won the third prize, a gift certificate to Anchor Inn.

The Club would like to thank in particular Bristol Lion Walt Johansson, who sold nearly one fourth of the summer’s tickets by soliciting on a bicycle around his neighborhood.

The Bristol Area Lions Club will hold its first dinner meeting of the new season on Monday, September 17 at 6 PM. Dr. Bob Smith of Coastal Senior College and Togus Veteran’s Hospital will speak at that meeting on post-traumatic stress disorder in the military. To make dinner reservations for that meeting, please call 677-2095. To learn more about the Bristol Area Lions Club, serving Bristol and South Bristol, contact John Janell at 563-7402
