The community clean-up day co-sponsored by the Bristol Area Lions and Masonic Lodge #74 and assisted by the Bristol Scouts and Pemaquid Watershed Association was quite successful.
Elmer Tarr was a dedicated Lion and Mason who during his daily walks would keep the Route 130 roadside clean from New Harbor to Pemaquid Point.
Fogler Road, Benner Road, Huddle Road, Snowball Hill Road, Pemaquid Loop Road and most of Route 130 certainly look cleaner. The next time you take a walk consider bringing a trash bag to collect along the way.
A grilled hot dog lunch with chips and sodas was provided by the Bristol Area Lions at the Willing Workers Hall at noon. The Masons were responsible not only for picking up but also collecting all the filled trash bags left by the roadside by all the participants.
Unfortunately, the Bristol Lions Little League team was unable to attend as the opening day game was that morning. The Carpenter’s Boat Shop and South Bristol Brownies and Daisies did their part on Earth Day Monday as reported last week.
