Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Gilbert of Whitefield selects winning raffle tickets at the Willing Workers Hall on Labor Day. Shown with him is Raffle Ticket Chairman, Lion Al Sears.
The Bristol Area Lions held their Labor Day drawing of winning tickets concluding its summer-long effort.
Deputy Sheriff Chad Gilbert of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, who was keeping our peninsula safe that day, picked the winning tickets for the club.
The first prize, a $250 L.L. Bean gift card, was awarded to Normand Saucier of South Bristol.
The second prize of a dozen lobsters, courtesy of Shaw’s Lobster Wharf, went to Anna Marie Fogg of Bristol.
Mike Kelleher, of Pemaquid Trail and Atlanta, Ga., won the third prize, a gift certificate courtesy of the Anchor Inn. Ironically, Mike was having a late lunch at the Damariscotta River Grill when he was notified.
The Bristol Area Lions Club would like to again thank Lion Walt Johansson, who sold 1000 tickets by soliciting on his bicycle around Pemaquid Harbor.
The Bristol Area Lions Club will hold its first dinner meeting of their new season on Mon. Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Willing Workers Hall.
James Donovan, C.E.O. of Lincoln County Healthcare will speak at that meeting on changes taking place at the hospital.
To make dinner reservations for that meeting, please call 677-2095. To learn more about the Bristol Area Lions Club, serving Bristol and South Bristol, contact John Janell at 563-7402.
