The seventh annual Bristol Area Lions Foundation Golf Tournament was held Aug. 8 at Wawenock Golf Club on a beautiful sunny morning.

No one won the 2015 Jeep Cherokee from Newcastle Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram, the prize for a hole-in-one on the par-three third hole; nor a 2016 Wawenock Golf Club membership for a hole-in-one on the eighth hole. Gift certificates for the Pemaquid Fisherman’s Co-op Restaurant were presented to Matt Corson and Eric Leeman who hit their ball onto the third hole green.

Wawenock General Manager Paul Richmond compiled the team scores and awarded prizes to all the winners. Winners include Darryl Leeman for closest to the lobster trap; Tim Mateosian for closest to the pin on hole 8 and for closest to the pin on hole 8 and for longest drive on hole 7; and Barbara Silver s for closest to the train on hole 6.

First gross winners at the event were Laurent Poole, Jennifer Chase, Dewey Chase and Tim Mateosian. First net winners were Matt Corson, Paul Sproul, Scott Benner and Bill Burges.

Second gross winners were Chris Leeman, Darryl Leeman, Bruce Cummings and Scott Banks. Second net winners were Eric Leeman, Joel Leeman, Mark Leeman and Dalton Leeman.

The Bristol Area Lions Club extends their gratitude to Paul Richmond of Wawenock, Sharlene Feltus of the Fairway Restaurant and Randy Miller of Newcastle Jeep for their assistance in the club’s largest fund raising event. Also, special thanks are due to the generous sponsors, lobster and prize donors who made this event a success.
The proceeds will benefit local charities and the Bristol Area Lions Foundation scholarship fund.
