The Bristol Area Lions Club held its Labor Day raffle drawing, concluding its summer-long fund raising effort. Deputy First Class Mark A. Bridgeman, of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, picked the winning tickets.

The first prize, a $250 L.L. Bean gift card, was awarded to Andrea Powell, of New Harbor. The second prize for a dozen lobsters courtesy of Shaw’s Fish & Lobster Wharf went to Polly Lindsey, of Pemaquid. And Garry Coleman, of Newcastle, won the third prize, a $50 gift card from The Anchor.

The Bristol Area Lions Club would like to again thank Walt Johannson, who sold 1,000 tickets by soliciting on his bicycle around Pemaquid Harbor.

The Bristol Area Lions Club will hold its first dinner meeting of the new season at 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 21 at the Willing Workers Hall.

Nutritionist Anne Rose Williams of Pemaquid Harbor will be the speaker at that meeting. She holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. Williams describes herself as “a passionate omnivore and foodie and enjoys a multitude of cuisines that energize and nourish the body and soul.”

To make dinner reservations for that meeting, call John Janell at 563-7402. To learn more about the Bristol Area Lions Club, serving Bristol and South Bristol, contact Walt Johansson a 677-2584.
