The Caring for Kids Christmas Project provides children with winter gear, new outfits, socks, undergarments, hats, mittens, books and TOYS! Older teens will receive some of these items and gift cards to local stores so they can purchase items in their style and size.

This program began in 1992 to help local children in Bristol and South Bristol stay warm and provide for their holiday needs. Please call 677-3300 if you are aware of a child or family that may need their support. This information is kept confidential and only an assigned number, sizes, and ages, etc. are given out to others.

A snack pack program was started in 2010. It provides juice, fresh fruit or veggies and 5-6 pre-packaged snacks every weekend to Bristol and South Bristol students that are already receiving free or reduced- price breakfast/lunch at school. These are packed by an all-volunteer organization with 8-10 turning out each week to assemble the snack packs.

The programs are funded by donations, grants, and proceeds from the Once Again Shop, a thrift shop located downstairs at the Congregational Church of Bristol Fellowship Hall. Donations of clean clothing in good condition may be dropped off Monday, Thursday or Friday mornings.

You can help make a local kid have a happy Christmas with a personal donation to help this 501 C (3) with their mission, please mail your check to: Caring for Kids, P.O. Box 412, New Harbor, ME 04554.
