Bristol Area Lions donate $2,000 to CHIP 01/24/2018

Bristol Area Lions Foundation Treasurer Michael Hope presented CHIP (Community Housing Improvement Project) Treasurer Susan Glueck a $2,000 annual donation to the CHIP home repair program. During this past year CHIP provided $59,000 worth of heating fuel, including firewood, to warm 250 households. The home repair program totaled $114,000 on items such as: weatherization, roofing, ramps, doors, windows, flooring, skirting, basic plumbing, electrical work, and more, improving 60 homes in nine towns. Neighbors helping neighbors with hundreds of hours of volunteer time.  The Bristol Area Lions urge all residents of Lincoln County to donate to CHIP Inc., PO Box 6, Newcastle, ME 04553.

The next meeting of the Bristol Area Lions Club will be on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. at Deb’s Bristol Diner.  The speaker will be Claire Enterline, the chair of the Bristol Mills Dam Advisory Committee, who will discuss the three options being considered.   To make reservations for that meeting please call Herb Watson at 677-6191.
