Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Mark A. Bridgham prepares to draw the winning Bristol Area Lions Club raffle tickets at the Willing Workers Hall in New Harbor. Star ticket salesman Lion Walt Johansson closely watches.

The Bristol Area Lions Club held its Labor Day raffle drawing, concluding its summer-long fundraising effort selling raffle tickets in front of C.E. Reilly & Son market on Saturdays.  Sgt. Mark A. Bridgham of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office picked the winning tickets.

The first prize, a $250 L.L. Bean gift card, was awarded to Alex Vise, of Boothbay Harbor. The second prize, a dozen lobsters courtesy of Shaw’s Fish & Lobster Wharf, went to Julia Ireland, of Pemaquid Harbor. Mary Maroney, of Pemaquid, won the third prize, a $50 gift card for The Anchor restaurant.

The Bristol Area Lions Club acknowledged 85-year old Lion Walt Johansson, who sold over $1,000 worth of tickets by walking up and down the driveways and roads off Pemaquid Harbor Road.  He sold two of the winning tickets this year.

Raffle ticket chairman King Lion Brendan Donegan scheduled volunteers and set up and removed the sales table each Saturday.
