Bristol Area Lions Raffle Winners 09/04/2019

The Bristol Area Lions Club held it Labor Day raffle drawing, concluding its summer-long fundraising effort selling raffle tickets in front of C.E. Reilly & Son market on Saturdays. Sgt. Alan F. Shea, of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, picked the winning tickets.

The first prize, a $250 L. L. Bean gift card, was won by John Merrill, of Chamberlain. The second prize, a dozen lobsters courtesy of Shaw’s Fish & Lobster Wharf, went to Michelle Rodrigues, of New Harbor. Barney Ireland, of Pemaquid, won the third prize, a $50 gift card for The Anchor restaurant.
The Bristol Area Lions Club acknowledged its oldest member, 86-year-old Lion Walt Johansson, who sold $1,300 of tickets by walking u and down the driveways and roads off Pemaquid Harbor Road. He sold one of the winning tickets this year.

Raffle ticket chairman King Lion Brendan Donegan scheduled volunteers and set up and removed the sales table each Saturday.

The next meeting of the Bristol Area Lions Club will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept.16 at the Willing Workers Hall in New Harbor. The speaker will be Principal Jennifer Ribereio of the Bristol Consolidated School who will update the club on the school’s activities including rising attendance and the girl’s softball field. The meal will be Shepard’s pie, salad, and biscuits followed by coffee and whoppie pies.
