The Bristol Area Lions Club held its Labor Day raffle drawing, concluding its summer-long fundraising effort selling raffle tickets in front of C.E. Reilly & Son Market on Saturdays. Sergeant Bridgham of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, picked the winning tickets.

The first prize, a $250 L.L. Bean gift card, was awarded to Bob Ireland on Pemaquid Harbor Road. The second prize, a dozen lobsters courtesy of Shaw’s Fish & Lobster Wharf, went to Jane Collins of Duxbury, Massachusetts. Nancy Ireland, further down on Pemaquid Harbor Road, won the third prize, a $50 gift card for The Anchor Restaurant.

The Bristol Area Lions Club acknowledged 84-year old Lion Walt Johansson, who sold over $1,000 worth of tickets by walking up and down the driveways and roads off Pemaquid Harbor Road. He sold two of the winning tickets this year.

Raffle ticket chairman King Lion Brendan Donegan scheduled volunteers, set up and removed the sales table each Saturday.

The Bristol Area Lions Club will hold its first dinner meeting of the new season at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 at the Willing Workers Hall. The Bristol Area Lions Club held its Labor Day raffle drawing, concluding its summer-long fundraising effort. Deputy Brian Collamore, of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, picked the winning tickets.

The first prize, a $250 L.L. Bean gift card, was awarded to Stan Fraser, of New Harbor.

The second prize, a dozen lobsters courtesy of Shaw’s Fish & Lobster Wharf, went to Maralyn Mattick of Irvington, NY.

Patrick Moran, of Pemaquid, won the third prize, a $50 gift card from The Anchor.

The Bristol Area Lions Club would like to recognize Lion Walt Johannson, who again sold 1,000 tickets by soliciting on his bicycle around Pemaquid Harbor. That accounted for 37% of the total tickets sold.

Raffle ticket co-chairman were President Brendan Donegan and Lion Tom MacGregor.

The Bristol Area Lions Club will hold its first dinner meeting of the new season at 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 19 at the Willing Workers Hall. The speaker will be Allen Millett, from Newcastle, who will tell us about “Archoil: nanotechnology in fuel and lubrication.” This will be part of a series on innovation and creativity.

The Bristol Area Lions Club will sell raffle tickets to benefit its Christmas food baskets and other local charities every Saturday until Labor Day. From left: President Brendan Donegan with raffle Co-chairman Tom McGregor.

The Bristol Area Lions Club will sell raffle tickets in front of Reilly’s Market in New Harbor from 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. every Saturday until Labor Day, when a drawing will take place at the Willing Workers Hall for a $250 gift card to L.L. Bean.

Second prize in the drawing will be a dozen lobsters from Shaw’s Fish & Lobster Wharf, and third prize will be a $50 gift certificate to The Anchor in Round Pond.

Also for sale will be a reprinted book of the early history of Pemaquid Peninsula and a photo essay of Muscongus Bay. All proceeds will benefit the Bristol Area Lions Foundation’s Christmas food baskets and other local charities.

In addition, the Bristol Area Lions will be collecting used eyeglasses, hearing aids and cell phones to be recycled by Lions International and distributed to developing countries.

The Bristol Area Lions Club appreciates the use of the space in front of Reilly’s Market.

The first prize, a $250 L.L. Bean gift card, was awarded to Andrea Powell, of New Harbor. The second prize for a dozen lobsters courtesy of Shaw’s Fish & Lobster Wharf went to Polly Lindsey, of Pemaquid. And Garry Coleman, of Newcastle, won the third prize, a $50 gift card from The Anchor.

Nutritionist Anne Rose Williams of Pemaquid Harbor will be the speaker at that meeting. She holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. Williams describes herself as “a passionate omnivore and foodie and enjoys a multitude of cuisines that energize and nourish the body and soul.”

The Bristol Area Lions held their Labor Day drawing of winning ticket concluding its summer long effort. Lt. Rand Maker of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and a Bristol resident picked the winning tickets.

The first prize, a $250 L.L. Bean gift card was awarded to Vicki Ford of Arlington, Ma. The second prize of a gift certificate for a dozen lobsters courtesy of Shaw’s Fish & Lobster Wharf went to Charles Busby of New Harbor. Laurie Mahan of Pemaquid Harbor won the third prize on a ticket sold by Lion Walt Johansson, a $25 gift certificate from the Anchor Inn.

The Bristol Area Lions Club would like to again thank Lion Johansson, who accounted for 38% of the ticket proceeds by soliciting on his bicycle around Pemaquid Harbor.

The Bristol Area Lions Club will hold its first dinner meeting of their new season on Monday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Willing Workers Hall.

Robert Clifford, President of Colby & Gale will review the company’s history at that meeting.

The Bristol Area Lions held their Labor Day drawing of winning tickets concluding its summer-long effort.

Deputy Sheriff Chad Gilbert of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, who was keeping our peninsula safe that day, picked the winning tickets for the club.

The first prize, a $250 L.L. Bean gift card, was awarded to Normand Saucier of South Bristol.

The second prize of a dozen lobsters, courtesy of Shaw’s Lobster Wharf, went to Anna Marie Fogg of Bristol.

Mike Kelleher, of Pemaquid Trail and Atlanta, Ga., won the third prize, a gift certificate courtesy of the Anchor Inn. Ironically, Mike was having a late lunch at the Damariscotta River Grill when he was notified.

The Bristol Area Lions Club will be selling raffle tickets in front of Reilly’s Market in New Harbor between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. every Saturday until Labor Day, when a drawing will be made for a $250 gift card to L.L. Bean.

Second prize in the drawing will be one dozen lobsters, and third prize will be a $25 gift certificate to the Anchor Inn in Round Pond.

After a summer-long effort, the Bristol Area Lions Club held a Labor Day drawing of winning tickets for its annual raffle. Deputy Sheriff Mark Bridgham of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office picked the winning tickets for the Club.

The first prize, a $250 L.L.Bean gift card, was awarded to Michael Schneider of Pemaquid. The second prize, a dozen lobsters courtesy of Shaw’s Lobster Wharf, went to Marian Marshall of Chamberlain. Linda Bean of Wakefield, New Hampshire won the third prize, a gift certificate to Anchor Inn.

The Club would like to thank in particular Bristol Lion Walt Johansson, who sold nearly one fourth of the summer’s tickets by soliciting on a bicycle around his neighborhood.

The Bristol Area Lions Club will hold its first dinner meeting of the new season on Monday, September 17 at 6 PM. Dr. Bob Smith of Coastal Senior College and Togus Veteran’s Hospital will speak at that meeting on post-traumatic stress disorder in the military.
